Resolutions 2009
We’ll see how long I stick to these…
1. Zero alcohol consumption during the month of January.
2. Go and see more live music.
3. Complete 1/2 Marathon.
4. Participate in and finish Reach the Beach 2009.
5. Update blog more often.
6. Take more photos.
7. Learn how to cook 3 new dishes.
8. Learn one new skill, still tbd on the skill.
9. Do something completely new every month.
10. Get in “wedding shape” sooner rather than later.
Speaking of live music, everyone should go buy the album from “The Airborne Toxic Event.” It’s $7.99 on itunes and well worth it.

10 Predictions for 2009
Everyone else does one so I might as well too…..
1. Economy will start to show signs of turing around at the end of Q3. Overall GDP growth will be 2% for the year ending. Not before some knee jerk layoff decisions.
2. Circuit City, Linen and Things, Shaper Image, etc….will not be missed. Sales will go elsewhere ie Best Buy.
3. Netbook sales will increase but by Q4 notebook sales will also grow as individuals decide to graduate to a real laptop.
4. At the first approval polling of Obama, most will be unsatisfied with the job that he is doing. Americans have no patience. (Assumes 180 days on the job)
5. Housing prices will continue to decline and the Government will develop an incentive package to help spur demand. This package will not help stop the slide in prices but will help sales of homes.
6. Blu-Ray players will drop to $150, prices of the discs will come down as well to help spur demand. Digital downloads of movies will see a record year.
7. WiMax will struggle to gain adoption in the US, growth overseas will meet expectations .
8. Flickr will be sold off from Yahoo!
9. iPhone rev 3 will be meh. Larger capacity but nothing new that grabs a greater marketshare.
10. At some point I will break my 250GB limit per month from Comcast.

Claymation Zombie Attack!
This is beyond awesome. Found via Boing Boing. I wish Wil Vinton would have made this kind of stuff.

Oh the things you’ll hear…
One advantage of living on the first floor in downtown is all the fun things you get to hear at night. Last night:
-One very very drunk group of Wooo girls walking down the street “Let’s go get drunk bitches!.” “Wooooo”
-2 dates coming to an end and 2 disappointed guys who didn’t get invited to come inside. One so much more disappointed than the other that he decided to call a friend and complain about it.
Better than the crazy bums that usually roll around in the bushes until the cops come.
Happy Thanksgiving!

While I was out.
This site is pretty amazing: http://buzzfeed.com/
Posted a bunch of pictures from PAX 2008 on Flickr.
I wish Obama would stop spamming my email address with donation requests. Honestly it is getting out of hand. Keep me up to date on what you’re doing but if I need to know how evil the republican party is I’ll stick with Digg.

Off to Europe
I’m heading off to Paris, France in a few days, hopefully I’ll come back with a ton of good pictures, stories, and fantastic memories.
I’ll be meeting up with my girlfriend and after almost 3 weeks of returning to bachelordom, I’m more than ready to see her and end my “return to singledom”. I’m especially looking forward to eating healthy again
Watch for some very cool Flickr updates hopefully very soon.

Tracing and Intel
Neat article here about some of the progress Intel is making into the graphics foray. Looking at the specs of the machine that they were using to do this I imagine its Windows Vista score would be pretty high. Hopefully in the near term they can scale this down to not requiring 16 cores to accomplish this pretty impressive feat.

Trying to figure out why Go Daddy keeps hijacking my page. Probably just a delay thing.

Why Digg Scares Me
Reading through the comments section of Digg can be terrifying sometimes. Check out this screenshot of what one commenter found out about an individual who had a video of him Dugg to the front page (sorry about crap quality) :
Congrats you made front page of Digg AND your whole life just got posted in the comments section.
